Studying Abroad in Italy

Studying Abroad in Italy

This past summer in 2022, I traveled to Italy to study abroad. This was a 3-week trip and art-focused. Experiencing Italy through Art, Art History, and Music.

I chose the independent studio course to focus on during this experience. We had projects and assignments as the trip went on. Each assignment was inspired by a narrative/painting that we saw in specific locations.

Our days were jam-packed with adventures.

We had classes every day for an hour or two and had plenty of time to explore each city and small town. Those opportunities to wander the crowded and energized streets in every city drew so much inspiration.

Inspiration came from the kind Italians working in leather shops, small art booths selling paintings next to the Duomo in Florence, boutique owners, and bookstore owners, architecture, gold ceilings, and the endless Renaissance paintings. Streets were always filled with color and music in the distance.

Studying abroad may seem intimidating at times, but I 100% believe studying abroad is the most enriching and educational thing you can do.
